Emails not working with Safe Browsing (VPN)
For a small set of users they may experience issues trying to use Email when connected to our VPN. We’re not alone, most VPN providers block port 25.
Whilst we acknowledge it can be frustrating to our customers, it would cause widespread disruption to our service and even cause blacklisting of our servers.
You can still send and receive emails whilst connected to PCProtect's Safe Browsing (VPN) and it’s extremely simple.
Most, if not all email applications will allow you to use a different port. You can change your SMTP server settings to use port 465 or 587 and you’ll be able to send and receive emails again. It’ll only take a few minutes max.
Within Outlook Express, click Tools > Accounts
Click the Mail tab
Select your email account from the list, then click the Properties button
Make sure the Include this account when receiving mail or synchronizing box is checked
Click the Servers tab, locate the Settings button below Outgoing Mail Server and click it
