How to Submit Suspicious Files

At PCProtect, we take pride in maintaining the most up-to-date databases of viruses and malicious websites to ensure comprehensive protection for our users.

If you would like to contribute to the safety of the PCProtect community, you can submit any suspicious files or false positives for analysis. Your input helps us continuously enhance our protection standards.

Once submitted, our virus lab engineers will carefully analyze the file or website. If deemed malicious or a security risk, it will be flagged accordingly, ensuring that any future encounters by our users are promptly identified and protected against. See below on how to submit a suspicious file, website or a false positive:

Submitting a Malicious File or a False Positive File:

If you have found a Malicious File that is not being detected by PCProtect, or a safe file that is being detected as a False Positive by PCProtect. Follow these instructions:

Preparing the File:

To prepare the file you will need to compress it into a compress file format such as:

  • .zip
  • .rar
  • .7z
  • .tar
  • These file formats can be accessed using Windows own compression system or a third party application i.e. WinRaR or 7Zip

Simply right click on the file(s) you would like to compress and select the Compress option. Then proceed to password protect your file with the password: infected.

For both Windows and Apple Mac users, compressing the file(s) is the same. Unfortunately for Mobile devices, you are unable to compress natively unless you download a Compressing Application from either the App Store or Play Store.
